Monitoring and Control
One of waveI's larger projects was the ground-up design, prototype and development of a
complete remote building automation system for a Manhattan start-up. The system allows
secure remote access via web browsers, iPods and smart phones to live and historical
building systems' data. The web interface includes viewing historical trending of data
through graphical plots and event tables. Live remote control of security systems, HVAC,
lighting, etc. are authorized to defined users through a sophisticated adminstration interface.
Immediate event notifications are "Pushed" via text-messages, e-mail and custom smart device
apps to the customer's defined user list.
The system allows an authorized user (located anywhere in the world) with access to a browser, iPod, Blackberry, etc. to:
- Query the state of a specific light, turn the light on, turn the light off...
- Check the temperature in a room, modify a set-point, activate blowers, boilers, etc...
- View a key-card access log, unlock a door, lock a door, buzz in a tenant...
- View a fuel tank level.....
- View historical or current utility usage of tenants, buildings, systems, etc...
- Activate, deactivate, reset alarm systems, specific zones, etc...
- Receive an alert (critical, informational) from any state change of lights, access points, alarm systems, water sensors, motion detector, utility usage threshholds, etc....
